Good to be back
Exhibitors and visitors flooded into the Harrogate Convention Centre for the Sunday night party and the Harrogate Nursery Fair team and party sponsors were delighted to welcome so many industry colleagues to the event.
The first day of the show finished on a high for everyone involved with business buzzing in the halls as exhibitors, retailers and buyers gathered for the first time in over two years.
Tuesday is the last day of the event, with the halls opened from 9.30 until 4.00pm – we hope to see you there.
The Baby Products Association announced the winner of its 2021 Concept & Innovation Awards today as Stuart Kingswell with Squirrel - an instant formula feeding dispenser. He was presented with his award by sponsor Lyndsey Hall of law firm 3volution.
The judges were impressed with the innovative design and engineering of Stuart’s product, which allows water and formula milk powder to be carried together in a bottle, but only mixed at the click of a button. Squirrel fits into the baby bottle and provides a solution to keep formula milk fresh and safe until ready for use. This not only provides convenience to parents; but also reduces the necessity to use ready mixed formula milk, the packaging of which contributes to landfill.
Stuart, who is an engineer and has been working on his design for almost four years, commented: “I am so honoured and delighted to receive this award. I have no experience in the baby products industry, but love to design and engineer solutions to problems, so it means so much that Squirrel has been recognised and commended by industry experts.”
Other finalists, which were both highly commended by the judges, were Nicky Bateman with The Qudo Soother a patented teat design and proven solution for parents to help infants struggling with persistent crying; and Rachel Wood of Bibado with Dippit, a stage one weaning spoon.
